Dropping support for Joomla! 1.5

in Development on 16 Jan 2015 having 2 comments

Joomla! 1.5 has had a (longer than expected) good run and we've been offerring support for our customers long after it entered end of life, with the release of 1.5.26 back in March 2012. However, things need to move forward.

We will be dropping support for Joomla! 1.5 completely beginning 1st of March, 2015.

Joomla! 1.5

  • This means that starting with the 1st of March, 2015 all Joomla! 1.5 related downloads hosted on our website will be removed. You will no longer be able to download Joomla! 1.5 versions of our components, modules or plugins. If you would like to use them after that date, please do download them now and keep the backup copies on your computer.
  • We will also no longer provide support for Joomla! 1.5 versions of our extensions. Joomla! 1.5 hasn't been updated in almost 3 years and around that same time we've stopped releasing updates for the Joomla! 1.5 versions of our extensions as well.
  • The Joomla! 1.5 versions of our extensions that you have installed on your website will continue to function just like they did before.

What about Joomla! 2.5?

Joomla! 2.5 will be supported until 1st of January 2016, even though it entered end of life on 31st of December, 2014.

What should I do now with my Joomla! 1.5 website?

The answer is simple: migrate to Joomla! 3.

No, there is no special discount for 1.5 plugin users. Currently, a subscription provides access to both versions (1.5 and 2.5/3.x).

Note that you can renew subscriptions with 30% discount (built-in).
