RSDirectory! is now compatible with Joomla! 2.5. But this is not all, the new revision offers entry viewers a contact author via email functionality and brings a large number of improvements and bug fixes.

Joomla! 2.5 compatibility

A little over 2 months have past since the successful release of RSDirectory! for Joomla! 3.x. Since then, we have received a large number of requests for a Joomla! 2.5 - compatible version of the directory management system so, here it is, RSDirectory! is finally Joomla! 2.5 ready!

Contact entry owner

Many customers have expressed the need to allow their users to contact the entry authors via email. This new release includes the possibility to add a Contact author button that will open a modal in which frontend users can type in their name, email and message to be sent to the entry's owner. Owners can enable or disable this option in their accounts (via the My account menu item).

Website administrators have also been given control over this feature, through Group permissions. Basically, they can decide which groups of users can contact entry authors.

Load Content plugins within entry descriptions

To give you even more control over how entry pages are being displayed, we have included the possibility to load Content plugins within entry descriptions. You now can, for example, load a slider module on the entry's page by simply using the default Joomla! Content - Load Modules plugin along with it's afferent syntax - . This option can be easily enabled / disabled in the Description field's configuration area.

Frontend and backend functionality improvements

Aside from the most important additions presented above, this new revision also brings some minor improvements that add up to the component's functionality and both the administrator's and frontend users' workflow: the Map Radius Search menu item and the Filtering module now include an option that adds a Show more button if large lists of field items are being displayed, to avoid forcing the frontend users to scroll down a long way to trigger the search. Also, we have done our best to fix all of the bugs that have either been reported by you or that we have found while testing the component, all of this to give you the best experience while working with RSDirectory!.
