You need JavaScript enabled to view it etc etc, lots of trash in database and so on, so i custom coded a new validation rule to do that! and im sharing!let start working.

I used a little joomla extension called 'Seber User Export'. It let me export all my user data to a .csv. I deleted all the columns of info I didn't want in a spreadsheet program so all I was left with was a column of Names and a column of email addresses.

Then I used the import function of RS Mail to add them to the mailing list I wanted.

After that the registration plugin should handle and new additions (although I haven't tested that bit yet!).

I have added here a small example form that adds the form data to the database table jos_register while NOT adding the data to the default rsform tables.

Before you run this form, make shure you have created the database table in your Joomla database first. To do that, run the following SQL query inside phpMyAdmin:
CREATE TABLE `jos_register` (
  `id` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment,
  `name` varchar(100) NOT NULL,
  `address` varchar(100) NOT NULL,
  `postalcode` varchar(10) NOT NULL,...

I got past the problem by exporting the forme_forms, forme_data, and forme_fields tables from a backup of the database and importing them into the new one. Seems to be working okay.

I have been looking through the forum and it seems that variations on questions regarding the registration form are numerous and answers seem non-existent.

There was a post responding to yours about using Community Builder. I don't know if that is really the way to go, but I'm going to install it and see waht it can do.

The documentation for Community Builder (AKA: CB) is lacking, and if you really want it they make you pay for it. Which is okay if that's their business model. Actually, you...

Hi

I purchased RSform license few months ago.

When I tried to check for updates I get following error
Error, invalid license code or remote file _update_rsform.xml not available

Thats why I have done these steps:

1. Made backup of RSform data
2. uninstalled component.
3. went to my RSjoomla account and download RSForm 1.04 for joomla 1.0
4. installed component
5. entered my license code
6. went to restore my backup data - AND IT DIDN'T WORK!!!
with this error:

Parse error: parse error,...

I am having this error as well. I cannot export the database and my client is absolutely freaking out on me. Has anyone made any progress in creating a csv export with more than 100 so so records? This is stunningly bad for a "pay for" component.

I even imported the entire database to a local system and cannot feed this app enough time or RAM to do a simple export.

Sorry for the double post.

I would like to recommend Open Office, as an alternative to excel, for exporting the database. Open Office is free and is very similar to excel without all the nasty glitches (line break issues, quotation marks as delimiters in the middle of text fields etc etc). Once imported to Open Office you can 'save as' an excel spreadsheet.

I just wanted to share for the next person searching for answers on these issues.

Hi,

Used RSForms a few times now without a problem but I'm baffled by a new install of Pro on a new 1.5 site where they example form works OK but imported or new forms don't save data.

Has anyone come across this before.

thanks,

David.

Hi,
With excel the data needs to be imported into excel, not simply exported and opened in excel. Once exported, go to Menu > Data > Import External Data > Import Data, browse the CSV file and set up the delimiter from the wizard that appears.

Note that although the export options allow you to choose the field enclosure for the fields, excel will only use either an apostrophe ' or quotation mark " as a field enclosure. This can be a problem if your text field responses have these characters in...

I am just now discovering a related problem. If you look at your database using MySQL you will probably see that there are two sets of tables for RSFORMS. One set is in full caps and the other is in lower case. It seems that your exported and uploaded forms get imported with the table names in full caps. Linux distinguishes between upper/lower case, whereas Windows does not (WinMySQL defaults to lower case). You can probably see that there are a number of potential potholes in this...

Hello,

Here's what I need to do : I need a page on my website where the submissions can be viewed by specific people. I just want the same submissions info that I can see on Joomla administrator back-end to be on a web page and updated automatically. I already have an email sent to the concerned person every time someone submit but now there's just too many submissions and the people from my student association can't handle that many. Also, I don't want myself to copy/paste (or export/import)...
