TOPIC: Memory footprint of export

Memory footprint of export 17 years 1 month ago #2582

I've just had to up the memory limit for the backend component from 64M to 128 M to get the export working once again. We currently have about 45.000 entries (in one form) with up to 5000 new entries a day (something is given away for free - in case you're wondering) and I'm pretty sure that this will only hold a few more days.

I'll plan to use the time gained to write my own export (using SH + & the mysql command line tools) but for an otherwise great component this is kind of a shame. I'm pretty sure you can optimize this by reading & writing the data in blocks instead of trying to do all at once.

Markus, I'm having trouble getting RSFormPro to export large numbers of records. How did you raise the memory limit for the backend component? Any other tips?

Thanks,

Jim

I'd love to know if there's any progress with this. We've raised our memory limit sky high but still can't export

I am having this error as well. I cannot export the database and my client is absolutely freaking out on me. Has anyone made any progress in creating a csv export with more than 100 so so records? This is stunningly bad for a "pay for" component.

I even imported the entire database to a local system and cannot feed this app enough time or RAM to do a simple export.

We are having the same issue, and there is no solution presented.
Terrible support.

Hello,

If you were using the latest version of RSform!Pro (revision 27) you will not have this issue. It was tested at about 100 000 submissions and still worked properly.

I am sure that if you submit a ticket to tech support one of my colleagues (or me) will help you out if of course you have a registered domain and a valid license.

From what i can recall the promoter of this thread has indeed submitted a ticket and the issue was resolved (this is why he did not bother to put out a reply on his own thread).

@ Mr. Masson, as the forum states we DO NOT offer official support on the forum. We do help out the community whenever we have time. So, before you judge us and throw rocks at our support... have you submitted a ticket and had the issue unsolved ?

Am having the same problem with 10,000 odd entries. I have increased the memory available to Joomla via:

Addition modification of the following line of code into the configuration.php file:

ini_set("memory_limit", "40M") ;

(See: forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=81758)

Ive gone upto 128M on one of my sites but rsform still erroring.

Hoping and praying the rsform support team can throw some light on this.

Hopeful

Kate
