Actually, this isn't a bug. You may have an outdated version of RSForm! Pro.
The "show_page_title" parameter is valid only for Joomla! 1.5 (which is added by default to menu items). The "show_page_heading" parameter is used in Joomla! 2.5 (and 1.7). There's a check in there (REV 43) for the Joomla! version that checks which parameter should be used.

After installing RSForm! Pro V1.4.x under Joomla 2.5.2 there appears an error message:
"Another menu-item in the same main-menu uses this alias.
Error while building admin-menu's"
However, I also get the message that the component is succesfully installed. But under Components RSForm is nowhere to be found, so I can't build form.
After this install trial under Menu -> New -> Select menu-item it is possible to select RSForm (Form or view submission), and that's it.
Problem is I can't find that alias.
Anyone any idea

Thanks
Ruud

Hello everybody.
I would like to create an interactive multi page form.
This will include selections from drop down menus as well as calculations and results from a db.
To get an idea of what I want to do, please take a look here :

I've used the KC QuickIcons extension for this:

www.keashly.net/administration/kc-admin-quickicons

I am using Joomla! 2.5 and was able to use the ACL to only show the reporting icons and menu items to our customer support reps that have to use the administrator backend to manage the reports.

Unfortunately, I had to hack RSFP to put ACL checks in for each of the the views. I didn't want the CSR's to have access to building the forms, backup/restore, plugins, etc. I hope RS Joomla! build that into the next release.

I installed RSBlog! on my local site and I got the following message:

Another menu item with the same parent has this alias. Error building Admin Menus.

It said that it installed successfully but I can't see it in my drop down of extensions.

Please help... Thanks

Hello,

What SEF method are you using and which Joomla! version?

I use Joomla! 2.5.1 with multi language (De,Es,EN,NL) and the Joomla! SEF with mod_rewrite (htaccess) and i don't have any problems.

When I create an RsForm Pro menu item at the top level of a menu, the SEF URL works fine. Example:

www.somesite.com/en/apply

When I make that menu item a sub-item of a parent menu item, the SEF URL doesn't work. I get a 404 error.
Example;

www.somesite.com/en/about-us/apply

Seems to me it has to do with multi-language SEF issues.

For now I solved this problem by creating an Apply menu item in a menu I called "hidden" and then I created a menu alias with About Us as the...

I am trialling the RS Events tool as a room booking (event) management system on a website that is currrently running from WAMP so I can't show a link to it. I've happily been using it as a training events component for several years and t's simple enough to work well for our needs. I just have the following questions before making a decision and recommending a purchase:

1. The calendar is currently only called from a menu item. Is it possible to call the calendar in some other way (other than...

I found that it was a module but there are not any menu items available to me. Is the Host menu tied specifically to the events that users submit? Not even a Super Administrator can edit from the Frontend if they haven't submitted an event?

Is it possible to edit events from the Frontend? If so is it a group setting, or one of the Frontend menu items? Currently our users can only edit locations. In the group setting we have edit events enabled.

Any ideas?

H,

I tried the new map menu item. Unfortunatenly it shows a world map with markers for events, but since I am using onle events in Europe, the map looks bad and one has to zoom in a lot. Is there a way to set the initial zoom factor and the center of the map?
Moreover, I just chose one category in the setting of the menu item and one location, but the map shows all locations and events of all categories.
Is this still a beta-feature or is it meant to work properly?
Thx,
Dan

Just go to the Menu Manager in Joomla! and create the link yourself.

I'm getting ready to transition my blog from using corephp's wordpress to RS Blog. When I set up the menu item for the blog home page I select Rs Blog --> Blog View. This works fine, but when I go to the Public view of the blog it list all published blog entries with the entire blog content. The basic problem with this is that it is way too much information to display on the page and it scrolls forever.

What I want for it to do is to list some defined number of topics (perhaps 10-20) along...
