TOPIC: Display Upcoming Events in an article?

Display Upcoming Events in an article? 10 years 6 months ago #29130

Is it possible to display upcoming events in an article instead of a module position? A client wants to have an article rotator--but wants the upcoming events to be included in the rotator. What would be the best way to do this?

Thank you for your time.

I have did is this way:

Created a hidden menu with an item with rsjoomla eventspro events including a filter for categories etc.
Now using a plugin inserted a tag in the article which gets and lists the event items from the hidden menu item.

This is the (free) plugin:

extensions.joomla.org/extensions/core-en...embed-a-include/8741

Example of my tag in the article:

{component url='index.php?option=com_rseventspro&view=rseventspro&Itemid=320'}

Regards,

Claus.

You can also try loading the Upcoming Events module inside the articles using the method presented here:

docs.joomla.org/How_do_you_put_a_module_inside_an_article%3F

To load the module in all articles, you can combine the method provided above with a template override for the Content component's "article" view. Template overrides can be created as explained in this article:

docs.joomla.org/How_to_override_the_outp...rom_the_Joomla!_core
