TOPIC: Increment ticket number

Increment ticket number 16 years 9 months ago #5006

Hoping someone can help. I'm pretty new to rsforms and joomla. I'm trying to produce a simple form where users are assigned a ticket number. The \"support ticket\" option seems to generate a random number. I want an orderly system where ticket numbers are incremented by 1 with each submission. Is this possible?

Joomla 1.5
rsforms pro (trial version until I get it working)

Hello Ray,

Unfortunately there is no way to generate sequential numbers using the Support Ticket option. However, we recommend you try RStickets!, which is an all in one ticketing system for Joomla! 1.0 and 1.5 (native support).

You can view a full list of features here.

Hmm, ok. Seems to me with all the scripting abilities it would be generally easy, but that probably just shows my ignorance!

Is there a sample page where I can see the options for rsticket in action? I'd rather not download and install a componenet without being sure it will do what I need. Any current customers wanna point me to their site? A google search turned up nothing.

I basically want to set up a system for reporting lost items. I want users to be able to give us all their contact info, description of the items lost and I want them to have some sort of reference number. This number will be in effect for years if we never find the lost item so I can't have repetition. Incrementing the number seems to be the easiest way to do this. RSForms Pro seems to have everything I need except this. RSTicket might be more for trouble tickets, which isn't exactly what I want to do.

Hello,

You could register with our website and submit a dummy ticket, this will give you a general idea.
We don't have a live demo but you can download the tryout version and install it, it's a 2 minute job.
