TOPIC: Multiple-file upload

Multiple-file upload 7 years 11 months ago #35120

Hi,
i`m playing around with the demo-account and missing a way to upload multiple-files?
I don`t want to insert the file-upload a couple of times as i don`t know, how man files the user would like to upload....

Will that come in near future?

If i add multiple fields for file- or image-upload.
How can i set the dirctory for each submitted form?
The images should be stored in separate folders.

Regards
hagen

Hello

At the moment the `File upload` field available in RSForm!Pro does not support multiple files uploads, you can only upload one file per field. If you want to upload multiple files in your form you will need to use multiple `File upload` fields.

Regarding the number of files the user wants to upload, you could try the following workaround:

- add a normal dropdown field in your form where the user will select the number of files that will be uploaded;
- based on this selection you can use the Conditional fields feature available in the component in order to display the correct number of `File upload` fields.

The current version of the component does not have a dynamic `Destination folder` feature available, thus you cannot upload the files to a different folder for each submission. All your uploaded files will be uploaded in your configured destination folder from Components > RSForm!Pro > Manage forms > Select form > edit the `File Upload` field > Attributes > Destination.

We will take your suggestions into consideration for our future versions of the component.

I'm also looking for this capability - it's possible with other Joomla form components, so not great that it's not available for this one. Along with the ability for dynamic folder creation to keep everything together.

PLEASE add this feature.

Hello,

Although we were debating for a while now between a new plugin for this element or enhancing the existing File Upload element, we eventually chose the latter. This couldn't had however been a quick development as the whole uploading functionality had to be revamped to support multiple file uploads and ensure existing form with uploads still continue to normally work seamlessly.

After rigorous multiple testing phases, the newest RSForm!Pro version (2.2.4) now incorporates a multi file upload element. It's part of the same File Upload element with additional options:

- allowing multiple files.

- forcing a particular number of minimum and maximum files.

- separator for multiple files.

- new File Upload specific placeholders.

"Good Things Come To Those Who Wait"

It seems we have to wait a little bit longer to get a GOOD multiple file upload feature.

Many of us are creating websites for user who just want to do what they see on the screen. Not everybody is used to hold down Ctrl-key to select more files. If he does, he is not able to see which files had been selected - just the number of files.

Guys at RSJoomla, I am sure You can do it better !!!

There are different versions out there.
e.g.
if 1 file is selected another button to attach one more file is added to the form automatically
or
"+" symbol next to the button gives user the opportunity to add more file upload options.

Your update today is a nice start, but please now go PRO

BTW: Just saw Your ticket system allows to add another file by clicking a button.
