TOPIC: Dropdown box empty field

I am curious how to create an empty line in a dropdown box? I have a Gender field with the obvious sections of Male and Female. I want to display with an empty value as default and make the user select the appropriate value for this required field with the empty field NOT as a valid selection.

Any help would be appreciated.

Edit your dropdown field and add a new line on top of the items that you have configured for it, only containing the following:

[c]

This will leave a blank line and it will also have it selected by default when the page gets loaded. If you set the field as required, it will not pass validation unless the user selects a value.
