TOPIC: Validation rule depending on a check box

Validation rule depending on a check box 11 years 10 months ago #24119

Hi!!

I am using rsformpro and i have created a form that i want it to have this functionality :

It has a Checkbox Group with two boxes, one box is "Contact me by email" and another "Contact me by sms". In addition there are an email-textbox, and a phone-textbox.

I want when the "Contact me by email"-box is checked, only the email-textbox be required field
and when the "Contact me by sms"-box is checked, only the phone-textbox be required field.
Finally, when both "Contact me by email"-box and "Contact me by sms"-box are checked, the email-textbox and the phone-textbox be required fields both.

I am new in using rsform, so can you explain me step by step how to create the form i want???
Thanks in advance!!

The best solution for achieving this would be through the use of the 'Conditional Fields' feature. This feature enables you to show/hide fields based on a selection made in a dropdown/checkbox/radio group.

You can set up both the email and phone fields to be required, they will only be validated if they are being displayed as a result of the conditions being met. If the conditions are not met (neither 'Contact me by email' or 'Contact me by sms' are checked), the fields will not be displayed or validated.

The following article provides a step-by-step guide to creating conditional fields:
