Yes, I am not sure what is going wrong.
I have been trying to get 1.3.0 to work with ReCaptcha for several hours. I have tried both locally using Xampp and was getting an error,

Input error: k: Format of site key was invalid

also, at the top of my form, it says:
To use reCAPTCHA you must get an API key from recaptcha.net/api/getkey

But, I do have a key and it is entered in the configuration, both the public/private keys. I rechecked it multiple times.

I tried to upload the site, thinking it could be an issue with my xampp, and am still getting the same error. As a last resort, I fully removed the component, and all plugins. Then I reinstalled and am still getting the same error. I have the plugin enabled and I have tried a few different keys, all global.

Can anyone offer any insight? I really need to get ReCaptcha working with this new version.

Many Thanks in advance.

Just a follow up...
as an additional test, I just removed all components / plugins from 1.3.0 and then installed just the 1.2.0 component and just the ReCaptcha plugin for 1.2.0. Once I did this, I entered my public/private keys and boom, working fine!

So for me, ReCaptcha appears to only not work with 1.3.0, anyone else having issues with 1.3.0 and ReCaptcha?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Another Follow Up...
I followed the update procedure and it seems to have worked and the ReCaptcha is working for me now.

If you're getting this error you must enable the reCAPTCHA plugin. Then you have to go to this site:

www.google.com/recaptcha/admin/list

and enter the numbers you come up with in the RSForm component under "configuration" "reCAPTCHA" tab.

I don't know if that's in the documentation for the plugin or if they just assume that everyone will know it. I had a very frustrating time before I googled it and figured it out myself.

Hello,

Also please try to download the ReCaptcha plug-in again from our site and install it over your current installation. This will act as an update for the plug-in.

Let me know if the problem persists.

Re:1.3.0 = Cannot Get ReCaptcha to work 14 years 7 months ago #11826

I'm experiencing a similar issue.

I installed RSForms!Pro on my site, then installed (and enabled) the reCAPTCHA plug-in. I then added my domain to my reCAPTCHA account configuration to generate the public and private keys. Afterward I copy-paste them into the RSForms! configuration.

I now see "To use reCAPTCHA you must get an API key from recaptcha.net/api/getkey" at the top of my form. I triple-checked all of my settings. I downloaded the RSForms!Pro component and reCAPTCHA plug-in today to be sure I was using the most current version.

Should I open a support ticket?

Glad I found this post right away! I was starting to get worried about getting this working and couldn't find anything about adding your public/private keys! You saved me a lot of time! I guess in the future, I should poke around more before using the component right away!

Bump. I'm also experiencing this problem. ReCaptcha works fine in other components on my site. Everything is installed and configured correctly as instructed. Still, I see "To use reCAPTCHA you must get an API key from recaptcha.net/api/getkey" at the top of the form, and "Input error: k: Format of site key was invalid" where my recaptcha should be. Any solution beyond confirming basic installation was done correctly?

Make sure that you have no trailing blank spaces in the key configuration area... It seems that this is a common issue.

Hello,

Please make sure that you are using the latest version of the plugin (it would be best to download the reCAPTCHA plugin again from our site and install it over your current version) and that the keys do not have any blank spaces. If the problem persists after you have checked these settings please submit a ticket to our tech support team.

Re:1.3.0 = Cannot Get ReCaptcha to work 14 years 3 months ago #12951

I had the same issue as this after copying and pasting in the keys, which i know are correct because it works perfectly on my current site.

However, after searching and searching for more info, when i went back in and compared the keys from the current site and the new site it turns out that the public key was missing characters, which i know had been copied correctly, not sure what happened there.

So i recopied making sure everything as pasted in the box this time and making sure both keys matched exactly.

Hey presto it works now, make sure you are copying the keys correctly and once you save them for the first time go back and compare the keys just to make sure everything is exactly the same ;-)

I hope this helps

Derek

I think because RSFORM read and store config value into session, so recaptcha cannot read value after you install and config recaptcha plugin. Simple solution's clear session by logout your account or wait to timeout :P

If you do that and still see "To use reCAPTCHA you must get an API key from recaptcha.net/api/getkey" at the top of the form, and "Input error: k: Format of site key was invalid" please open plugins/system/rsrecaptcha and add RSFormProHelper::readConfig(); before and any RSFormProHelper::getConfig('xxx').
Have a nice day

It's very simple: copy and paste the Public and Private Keys in their respective fields from RSForm! Pro > Configuration > ReCAPTCHA. There's nothing else that needs to be done - if the keys are present, without any extra spaces and are correctly copied (please make sure you select the whole key) everything will work as it does for literally thousands of websites.

I had a similar issue but I found that I had K2 enabled on the site to handle form processing and the reCAPTCHA key information was not configured in this section. If you have K2 on your site you may want to check the configuration settings in this area.

I saw 2 plugins. 1 captchawith palce to put keys, and another rsformpro captcha which was disabled. I enabled rsforms pro captcha and put my keys in the first one. This didn't work. after 1 hour of searching the web no luck. Then i went to rsforms configuration and found a captcha tab there. Presto! Put your keys in the correct place everyone!

The Captcha plugin is a Joomla! plugin which has nothing to do with RSForm! Pro. The docs also state that the keys should be added in the Configuration area of RSForm! Pro.
