How can I configure the Email Cron Plugin to work with gmail ?

WARNING! Please make sure that you do not use your personal email address when configuring the Cron. If you do, it will parse all email messages found, transform them into tickets and then delete the emails.

To use the RSTickets! Pro Cron with the Google email service, please use the following settings when configuring:

  • Account Name: any name you'd like for the account
  • Server Address: pop.gmail.com
  • Server Protocol: POP3
  • Server Port: 995
  • Username: your full gmail email address eg. account@gmail.com
  • Password: your password

In the "Advanced" tab, use the following settings:

  • Use SSL ?: Yes
  • Use TLS ?: No
  • Validate Server Certificate ?: No

Please make sure your host can connect to gmail - you should receive an error message if the connection wasn't successful.
