I think this is a problem that has affected us a lot, it is possible to implement a solution or suguieran us some plugins and how to solve it, it is not possible for "ads" have different urls and turn depending on where you show inherit the url of the category that does not belong.

for sample:

directory.rsjoomla.com/component/rsdirectory/entry/view/1-audi-r8

this is equal to:

directory.rsjoomla.com/categories/entry/view/1-audi-r8
directory.rsjoomla.com/add-entry/view/1-audi-r8
directory.rsjoomla.com/my-account/entry/view/1-audi-r8
.
.
.
directory.rsjoomla.com/whatever/1-audi-r8

some potential problems, share the link on facebook comments and these comments be linked to in a different url for the same "ads"

A quick fix:

1.would be to allocate a fixed in the canonical url of the ads, because now the canonical url is the same ramdom, explained above are.

2. do support sh404sef plugin, or a similar

Duplicate content is a known issue for a CMS such as Joomla!. There is no built-in solution for this, but there are various tools that can be used to handle duplicate content (including RSSeo!).

Since sh404SEF is actually a commercial extension, it would be more appropriate to ask them for compatibility on this (or a specialized plugin). RSDirectory! uses the standard Joomla! SEF practices.
