Hi to all,

I can't find a way to create a web directory structure. My scenario is this: a client wants to add his company to the list but on multiple categories - one main category and subcategories for specific activities (which inherits the main category as form and layout), e.g. Events->Exhibition and congress rooms.

With RSDirectory categories I can't do this because a company it's limited to one category. I created subcategories in a form dropdown field, but how can I display parent categories and these fields together?

Any idea is much appreciated, thank you.

Though an entry can't be assigned to multiple categories, you can actually use sub-categories. Have a look within the RSDirectory! > Categories area.

I already have categories and subcategories, the menu page is ok, but is not practical for companies. How can I use sub-categories for the same company?

My scenario is: a client needs to assign his company to a main category and 3 subcategories, according with his activity (CAEN code). In this case, he must enter his company 4 times? This is my dilemma.

I tried with fields, but the dependency is only for other fields not for a category.

I like RSDirectory because is faster than SobiPro and light, but one category is a serious limitation for a webdirectory.

Agreed. This is definitely a limitation that needs to be addressed.

For example, if a business wants to be listed in multiple categories, such as: "Graphic Designer" and "Web Designer" there is no way to implement this.

Similar to RS Joomla would need to be listed under "Joomla templates" and "Joomla Extensions" :D

I need this option as well. As most directory applications offer multiple category choices.

Another vote for Multi Categories. I own or tried the three other bigger solutions in this area and they all have this - I just prefer RSDirectory.

I would love to see this functionality too.

Any idea on when this might get implemented?

I am using RS Directory after switching from Sobi and it is great and your support is fantastic but this is making my life rather challenging at the moment duplicating listings to allow my listings to be published in various categories.
