Suddenly in the back end the "Events" link/page shows as a white page. All the other links work no problem.

Any idea why this could be happening?

Hello,

You can try to navigate to backend > System > Global Configuration > Server > set "Error Reporting" to "Maximum" (remember to also Save your configuration). Afterwards test this once more as an error / message should be generated instead. You can also submit a support ticket so we can have a closer look at this for you.

Thanks for your response. We determined that a "duplicated" event was the culprit. Not exactly sure why it occurred. Possibly a text field had some bad characters. After "error reporting", which didn't display anything our first guess was the duplicated event that was created the day before. We had to go into the database and delete it as it was not accessible from the component.
