TOPIC: Location Module Susceptible to Hacking?

Location Module Susceptible to Hacking? 12 years 3 months ago #20758

My site appears to have been hacked twice in the last month. Each time, only the locations for our events were changed. For each location, the location name was changed to a girl's name, linked to a Facebook profile, added a gibberish comment, and unpublished the location.

The first time this happened, I disabled inactive users and reset everyone else's password.

This time, I changed the location module's security setting from "inherited" so that only managers and super administrators could edit the content.

Is there something else I should do? Has anyone else had this problem?

Even with super administrator rights applied to the Location module, the module is still being hacked. Please help.

Installed a web application firewall last month. So far, so good.

What web application firewall did you install? We have a site that the locations are continually getting hacked and altered just like described above... name changed, URL changed to Facebook, unpublished, etc. We can't figure out how to prevent this. Thanks!
