The fixed aspect ratio and "free" aspect ratio options are nice, however, it would be awesome to have the ability to key-in a custom aspect ratio "ex. square, vertical, etc" I wouldn't think this would disrupt the simplicity of the component, and from the looks of some of the post it is something widely requested. At the moment I am using CSS to try and wrangle the images into the proper size, working with the width it assigns and adjusting the height and hiding the overflow. Even incorporating a "hold-shift to restrain aspect" function would be a nice addition.
