Here's the core question:
Is there an API that can be called to create a ticket without the UI?

Here's the reason:
Mobile users need support. Driving them to the website is an unnecessary step. It would be far simpler to ask questions, query the device for user specific information, place an ajax call to the server and via some API create a ticket or add a response to an existing ticket.

In our specific case, our clients have accounts on our server but their users do not. We don't want our paying clients put in the role of support gate keepers and we don't want to open the ticketing system to everybody and their brother.

Since our mobile app is HTML5 based and we use jquery, it should be a simple matter from our side to submit a ticket. The trick might be when the support person responds, we need to send a push notification back to that user. Since we already send push notifications to the mobile apps, it would just require a hook.

Is anything like this available or in the works? It would be HUGE in mobile app support!
