Clean install of RS Tickets! Pro

Joomla 1.7.3
All minimum requirements met.

However, as soon as I set a single staff member, then all of the customers have staff member access, even though they are not listed within the department. I checked the DB table, the default Joomla settings and I just can;t figure it out.

WHen I disable the Pro staff plugin, the default permissions return to normal, but I cannot access the tickets from the backend because the permissions are not stored in the session.

Here is what I think the problems could be:

FTP file permission settings (currently 744 for everything)
COnflict with another component/plugin/extension

I am ready to give up, someone please help. I have submitted a support ticket but have been waiting for a while.

Community, please advise.

You are not the only one with this problem.
I saw this effect last week on one of my websites.
Luckily all the members needs access.
