1) How do you change the starting ticket number?

I tried editing the the database directly of a ticket that has already been issued but that did not effect change on the next ticket.

2) How do you make the ticket number alpha numeric?

Hello,

I believe you are referring to the Ticket code. Please note that this unique string is generated by the component's source code from the predefined department prefix and a number. You can set the number to be random or sequential from the department's configuration. You can read more about this here:

www.rsjoomla.com/customer-support/docume...431-departments.html

If you wish to change how the ticket code is generated you will need to perform quite a bit of component source code modifications, this is not recommended since all source code changes will be lost when an update is performed.
Please note: my help is not official customer support. To receive your support, submit a ticket by clicking here
