if a 'medium' issue appears in the system log, does that mean the attempt was honored and logged? or that the issue was thwarted.

i see i can block the ip (using the button or automatically), but wonder if the attempt is being blocked if 'active scanning' is enabled even without ip blocking.

Active Scanner protections are normally applied on your website regardless if you're using the IP blocking feature or not.

Attempt implies it was prevented from doing anything, being detected by RSFirewall!, while the event is simply logged in your System Logs section.
