Hello,

I have a problem and that is that the Backend Password in my RSFirewall configuration is not being saved.

A client emailed us telling they did not need to put in the password anymore. Then I noticed the password field was empty, and when I filled in a password and saved, the field stayed empty.

This probably has something to do with rights of a folder or file, but I have no idea which. Can someone please help me with this one?

Thanks in advance!

The password was never shown - it's a one way encryption (you can't decrypt it and show it). It's the same situation when you edit a Joomla! user account - the password field is empty and it's only taken into account when you want to change it to a new password.

Your client has his IP (or IP range) in the whitelist - that's why he doesn't get prompted for the password anymore. There's also the case where the RSFirewall! System Plugin might be disabled.

Ah, I think you're right about the whitelist! Silly of me to forget that, but thanks for your reply! :)
