TOPIC: Revenue with RSEvents?

Revenue with RSEvents? 15 years 11 months ago #7454

Is it possible for a site owner to generate income using RSEvent? I see that those who post an event can charge for tickets using a paypal addon. In a situation where the site owner is solely putting on events I can see the income potential ... but how about this scenario:

As a site owner, I want to allow my members to post their events and if they desire sell tickets or admissions through my RSEvents installation. Is there a way for the site owner to collect a commission on their user's posted ticket/admission sales?

I have seen a drupal modules that allows a site owner to use paypal's Mass Pay (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_batch-payment-overview-outside) to track and disperse payments to users of their site (an ecommmerce module). Is there anyway to accomplish something similar in RSEvents?

Does the new version have the commission features?

I'm just speculating, but you should be able to use RSForm Pro and it's mapping feature to charge a rate per submission. Doesn't do much for multiple submissions. You could always use membership to restrict users from the add an event form without a subscription, etc.

The ticket system would be more complex though, just sorta brainstorming as I have been wondering the same. Would be nice to use it to sell tickets, specifically seated tickets.
