i need to have the category description in the page where loads events list of the category

how can i do?
The administrator has disabled public write access.

I also would like to be able to show a category description with the list of events for that category - but it doesn't appear to be an option with the component.

One solution is to put the category description into an article and then use the loadposition plugin to publish an upcoming events module defined for the category you want. You have to select and style the elements you want to show - but could use the ones from the table list.
