Hy!

1. Why isn't automatic reminder working for me? Do I have to install cron? So, if I click link for automatic reminder, it only throws me a blank page.

2. What does 'Number of days for automatic reminder' actually means? For example: if I write there 7, then it will send automatic reminder for event to list of subscribers for 7 days in a row?

3. Is it possilbe 'to code' that reminder is sent automatically just one day before the event starts or/and on the day of the event? Or maybe every three days or every week?

4. Can we set different automatic reminder for different events?

Thanks!

I noticed that this post is not being answered, and past posts regarding CRON execution instructions are being left blank. Can anyone at RS post a clear process regarding CRON config? I have been left hanging as well.

one paragraph of text in the RSEvents guide is not enough.

Note:

Since RSEvents! revision 16 automatic cron reminder option has been introduced. This feature basically adds the following settings: Number of days for automatic reminder and Automatic reminder link. Clicking the Auto reminder link will trigger the reminding emails. This link can also be used in a server side cron to automate the process. One can use the following commands for cron configuration:

◦lynx "yoursite.com/index.php?option=com_rseven...sk=automaticreminder"
◦wget -O /dev/null http://www.your_site_here.net/index.php?option=com_rsevents&task=automaticreminder

I presume we just execute these commands and we're done??? That's it?

Do you have step by step instructions other required steps?

Other Questions:
1) Once these two root commands are implemented, do we always need to manually click the auto reminder button?
2) How do we adjust the timing of these auto messages (before and after the event)
3) Are there any other configurations that need to be set in the back end>
4) I combine RS Events with RS Forms so that confirmation messages include details related to each specific event (RS Events only offers one canned message) How can we cron a reminder in RS Forms?

PLS advise. Thanks

Yeah, it is crap they don't hasve better answers on the cron jobs. If you go into your hosting account and have CPanel, you will find a link near bottom for "Cron jobs" - you lok in there after clicking the link and the cron job is stored on the server. It is set to check every 30 minutes if something has fallen within the default 3 day before/after reminder setting. But something is seriously amiss there - haven't received a single reminder email. All else works flawlessly on my setup.

RsForms Pro is a big disappointment if you thought you were going to edit something ugly like the "Invite" form. You can't - it is all controlled by several CSS files.

Hint fotr Invite form. You can edit the phrases easily - they are in your en-GB.com_rsevents file(text file). Little things like "Do the math, enter below.
Click on the image to reload it", which explains it for those who don't find that intuitive.
Find your yahoo.png and gmail.png files and shave those icons down to 20-24px.
