One thing missing from RSEvents ... 14 years 7 months ago #11527

I've been a satisfied user of RSEvents for a couple years now and there is only one thing missing. I had hoped/thought that it would be possible to charge users a fee for placing an event for which they sell tickets.

This doesn't necessarily need to be a complex system that relies on percentages (like Super Events). To me the best way to handle this feature is also the simplest ... allow site owners to place a flat fee for event placements ... irrespective of the number of tickets or the cost of tickets sold.

Monetizing sites, especially community / social sites is difficult if you try a subscription approach. But little upgrades and extras, like being able to buy ticket management could allow site owners to at least offset the cost of running their sites. The ability to charge members for RSEvents ticket sales and management could be an excellent opportunity for that kind of 'value-added' monetizing.

Hi Frank,

I do not have a solution but rather a question. I am considering RS Event to create a restaurant reservation system where a guest is charged a flat fee for an event - table reservation (with no subsequent ticket sales) and then sends invitations to join them at the table. Is this possible in RS Event? Can I set up a charge that this user creating the event will pay depending on criteria to be defined?

Thanks,
Gary
