After purchasing RSEvents I must say that the component rather looks like an early version of an events component as it lacks fundamental features:

a) limited filters (only category and location) - but many like me would need more, for example in a gig calendar in different cities a city filter ...

b) it does not have a "repeated event" feature - bad, when you have a gig at a certain location say 1 or 2 a month on a specific date for a defined time ...

c) to few options to include picture (for example flyers, posters) or include pictures in the description through a Joomla editor (or did I miss something).

Just some of the things I noticed when trying RSEvents

So, I hope, you add at least some of things mentioned abouve to RSEvents in the future so it might be a choice for people how need an event calendar like me.

Hello,

The fact that it does actually fits your needs does not make a component bad. So to answer your issues:

a. A city is actually a location... so this is why a general approach was take - location filter

b. It actually has a repeating events feature (configurable from both back and front-end): Components > RSEvents > Events (notice the repeat column located on the right)

c. The RSEvents! description area has a WYSIWYG editor (your own installed editor). You can add there almost anything. You can even incorporate videos or widgets in the Extras area when editing an event.

PS: In a few moments a new revision of RSEvents! will be released.

I didn't consider the component as bad , I only need one to feel my needs ... (o.K. that's a problem, as anybody has different ones).

a) I have different events with different locations in different cities and countries ... I am not sure, but I don't see how to do that with the location alone?

b) I looked up the repeat feature in the main add dialog, not in the list view - thanks for the hint ...

c) I have JCE 1.5.7. installed - it does not show in the description dialog?!?
