TOPIC: Export to UFT-16 (RS Forms Pro)

Export to UFT-16 (RS Forms Pro) 15 years 4 months ago #9319

Hello

I use RS Forms Pro on one of my websites, and I have a problem with foreign letters like "ó, ð, ø, ý..." The language is Faroese, and is much like Icelandic.

When I am in RS Forms comp, everything is OK, but when I export the data to csv, some the letters get corrupted. I noticed if I change the UTF settings to UTF-16 instead UTF-8, it works perfectly.

Is there a way to change the export settings in RS Forms Pro so these letters work, or just change the export to UTF-16?

Any help is good!

Hello,

Changing the encoding to UTF-16 is not that easy, and implies a lot of source code modifications. If those chars are the sole reason for changing the encoding, note that this should really work with UTF-8 also. If you are using RSform!Pro in combination with Joomla 1.5x then this should work by default.

The first step would be to make sure that you are using the latest version of RSform!Pro

Second, you should make sure that the RSform!Pro database tables are using the utf-8 general CI collation. You can verify this, by using phpMyAdmin or something similar.
