Hi.

Please check if the following folder permissions are correctly set: 755 for /components, 755 for administrator/components and 777 for /media

Hi bogdan,

Thanks for the reply. I just changed the permissions and refreshed both Joomla and Cpanel File Manager and it is still coming up with the same error.

Any other suggestions?

I did just move to a new host on siteground.com. I doubt that should make a difference though.

You can go to Global Configuration -> Server and check if the Path to Temp-folder exists. Also try to put the Error Reporting to Maximum.

This is the path to tmp folder defined:

\public_html\Template\Quickstart\tmp

The path to media folder is: images

Does this help?

Try to see on your server if the path to tmp folder exists. If not create it. Also you can try to change FTP-settings in Global Configuration to NO.

The tmp path is defined. and the FTP settings are set to no already.

Hmmmm.... anything else it could be?

Re:Error Message When Installing Component 16 years 2 months ago #6665

I am having the same issue trying to upload/install RSForms in a new Joomla 1.5.9 site. The installation is on the root directory. I believe have set all of the permissions to what has been recommended. The path to the tmp folder is correct. I am having the same problems trying to install any new module, not just RSForms. Has anyone on this forum heard of a solution?

Re:Error Message When Installing Component 16 years 2 months ago #6666

A friend just got the solution for me. I got it to work installing from the public_html/com_rsforms... directory after setting the permissions to 777 in the media, modules, images, components directories as well as the administrator/components; and administrator/modules directories.

Interestingly, I still was not able to install from the .zip file as per usual.
