I am migrating a Joomla site from Joomla 1.0.15 to Joomla 1.5.

The migrate component that I am going to use to convert the 1.0.15 database data to 1.5 format does not convert 3rd party component data.
joomlacode.org/gf/project/pasamioproject...;frs_package_id=2588

Here are the instructions on 3rd party component migration for the Joomla documentation Wiki
The Migration system only handles the core system in its migration which means that if you want to include third party extension data from other tables you will have to install migrator plugins to handle the migration of this data. There are two types of plugins that are used: an \"SQL\" plugin which is a plain text SQL file and an \"ETL\" Plugin which is a bit of PHP that tells the migrator how to handle the data stored in tables (or in configuration files). This is done by selecting \"Add Third Party Migrators\", and then locating the plugin you wish to install and uploading the file. SQL files will be prepended to the output automatically and ETL plugins will be executed automatically. You can view a list of ETL plugins by clicking \"List Plugins\" in the main screen.

This will be the first 1.0.15 site that I will be migrating.

Can someone please tell me if there are migrator plugins for RSForm? If not how do you migrate the form data that is stored in the 1.0.15 database?

Also I am assuming after the data gets migrated onto the 1.5 installation I will need to download the RSForm 1.5 version & install it on the new 1.5 website?

Thanks for your help with this!

Hello,

You will simply have to create a backup of your forms ( on you joomla 1.0x installation ) and then restore the backup on the Joomla 1.5x installation.

This is all to it.

I did exactly that and it failed with the message "The file you selected is not valid". The backup process on the old RSForms 1.0 component creates a forme.txt file. Is the ".txt" file extension causing the problem, perhaps (as opposed to a .sql file extentsion)?

Please help.

Thanks,
Keith

I had an old Joomla 1.0 site that I recently upgraded to Joomla 1.5 and I also wanted to uprade the RSForm! component with all of the existing forms to RSForm! Pro in Joomla 1.5 but I was receiving the same error mentioned by kdpickett above. I found exactly what I needed here: www.rsjoomla.com/joomla-plugins/rsform-p...sform-migration.html. Basically, you need to do the following:

1. From your old Joomla 1.0 website, in the RSForms component, create the backup file (it will be the .txt file)
2. Enable the legacy plugin in your new site, Joomla 1.5.
3. Install the old RSForms (not RSForms Pro) component for Joomla 1.0 - So you should have the old 1.0 component installed AND the new 1.5 component installed.
4. Restore the .txt file there (the same one you backed up on Joomla 1.0)
5. You should now have the old forms restored in the old RSForms component.
6. Go to the link I posted above: www.rsjoomla.com/joomla-plugins/rsform-p...sform-migration.html - it will tell you where to download the rsforms Migrator plugin. It should be found in your downloads area on this site under plugins.
7. Install and enable the plugin
8. Go to RSForms Pro > Configuration > Migration and click the button (if there is no button, go back and make sure you completed the steps properly)
