TOPIC: Tick Box for Terms and Conditions

Tick Box for Terms and Conditions 16 years 9 months ago #5041

Hi,

I am creating a form for my new competition I am hosting and the RSForms is the best component yet - also my only component I have purchased for Joomla.

I was wondering how I could create a terms and conditions tick box as we see on other sites. I want the user to tick the box to say they understand the terms and conditions with a link to the terms and conditions on the side. Something what I am after is here;

www.v8supercars.com.au/SingleSignon/SignUp.aspx

At the bottom where it asks if you have read and understand the \"Telstra's Privacy Policy\" is what I am hoping to achieve. It doesn't have to look like that but I prefer it to have a tick box with a message saying \"I accept the terms and conditions\" (with the terms and conditions title a link to the rules page).

I am using Joomla 1.5 and RSPro.

Cheers,
Mal

Hello,

You could try to add a \"Checkbox group\" component, fill in the Name field with whatever you like (\"Agree\" would be a good example), and the Caption field with:
I agree to the Terms and Conditions

Ultimately you can set this as \"Required\", set up the Validation Message to something like \"You have to agree to the Terms and Conditions to enter the competition\" and click on the small Save button. Don't forget to add a dummy value in the Items field (such as Yes) if you set it to Required.

Post edited by: strafe, at: 2008/10/13 15:14

Thanks alot mate - worked like a treat. :)

Now just one more question...

When I set a fields maximum size to say 10 it doesn't stop at 10 when a user is inputting. How can I restrict the number of numbers or letters some inputs into a field?

Hello,

You can try and set this on additional attributes:
maxlength=\"10\"

You can however replace 10 with any number you wish.
