TOPIC: What if user has Java disabled?

What if user has Java disabled? 16 years 8 months ago #4109

Hi everyone,

I am just curious. I have added quite a bit of javascript to my forms but I am now wondering what will happen if the user has java disabled. Will it still run on the server side and make the form do what it is supposed to, or will it just not work?

Thanks,
Adam

If they don't have JavaScript enabled your scripts won't work. I wouldn't worry too much though because the majority of people are using it. In fact as much as 95% on W3C schools www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

I know that it's possible to write php scripts which can do some of what your JavaScript does.

Good Luck

I guess the best thing to do then, would be to have a notice when users login telling them that they must have Java enabled. That way, if it doesn't work, it's their own fault!

Note that Java and JavaScript are different things.

I don't think I was aware of that. What's the difference?

Thanks,
