I just purchased RSForm and i'm receiving an error when installing the component. Currently using Joomla 1.5:

JInstaller::install: File '/home/.wellies/name/site.com/tmp/install_47bd627e18b63/captcha.php' does not exist


com_forme1.0.4.J15-Tryout.zip installs just fine. Also when input my license code and click \"update\" i receive error also. See below:

Version Upgrade Utility
Check OK, your \"/home/.wellies/name/site.com/components/com_forme\" is WRITABLE
Check OK, your \"/home/.wellies/name/site.com/administrator/components/com_forme\" is WRITABLE
Error, invalid license code or remote file _update_rsform_1_0_4_J15.xml not available

I'm getting exactly the same problem. I opened a help ticket 2 days ago but I've heard nothing so far.

I have a hunch that might help you though. Have you tried completing the installation with no firewall activated. I'm working behind a shared firewall and the server admin team won't let me disable it.

No firewall here... I should have just installed the full version from the get-go rather than the tryout version. I don't think the tryout version uninstalled properly.

Have you tried installing the full version?

Got the same problem, but resolved it.
The component is a zipped file and lookin inside reveal that the captcha.php file isn't there in the root structure of com_form1.0.4.j15.zip. All you have to do is downloading the com_form1.0.4 (joomla1014) and you copy the captcha.php present in that file in the com_form1.0.4.j15.zip file, easy with total commander.

The installation is working fine, without failure and the registration key is accepted as well.

I was having the same problem but that worked great.

I now get a different error \"JFTP::write: Bad response Unable to write entry\"

I followed the instructions re the missing captcha.php file.

Any suggestions as to what this error might be please?

This is my first post ever in a forum! I have had the same problem installing RSform and followed your advice to add the captcha.php file from 1.0 into 1.5. I did this by unzipping both installation files, copying the file, and then zipping 1.5. Then I tried the install again, and now I get this error...

Error! Could not find an XML setup file in the package.

I am using a Mac so I guess that \"commander\" is some utility on a pc to accomplish what I did above?

Can you give me any advice about what I have done wrong?

Hi all - I was also getting the JFTP::write: Bad response error.

and I seemed to have hacked a way around it...

using an FTP program, I set the /administrator/components CHMOD to 777 and based on a tip i read about a different component, under Global Pref I had to turn off FTP - After that it installed without a problem.

The update also installed properly.

Hope this helps some of you.
