Did you fix this? It seems to submit a form for me.

You really should use the Thank You page of RSForm so that your users know the information was sent successfully. Right now it just seems as though the page reloads.

Re:My first form is not submitting, please help 17 years 2 months ago #2036

it still does not submit. it does recognize required fields and it does not display my thank you message. it just displays a broken page after clicking the submit button.

is this because i have SEF urls enabled?

i really appreciate any help. this is one of the last things preventing this site from going live.

It's not doing that for me. It works. It just doesn't show me any type of thank you page.

NO, SEF will not effect the form submission.

What version of Joomla are you using?

Well, I don't know if it's sending. I do know that the form submits.

Did you put in an email address and create an email message for you to receive when someone sends the form?
You have to create that. It just doesn't send you the information.

I just sent a test message through. Let me know if it arrives.

Without looking at your back end, I can't tell you if you've set it up correctly or not. I'm pretty sure it's a configuration issue. I think you're missing a setting. However, I don't use 1.5, I use the regular Joomla 1.0.14 source so I don't know the differences between the two.

Has this been fixed yet? I am having the same problem. I have the email address filled in, I have a thank you message. I do not receive an email and after clicking submit it just refreshes the form, no thank you message...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the same problem, after I fill out the form and click submit a \"Not Found\" screen displays and I don't recieve an e-mail with the form info. I have filled out all the proper fields when creating the form; including my e-mail and a message, but the form doesn't sem to work,

Does anyone know a solution to this problem? Thanks

I am wondering if this has something to do with the way email is actually handled in Joomla, there are settings in the global configuration under server for email handling. It gives the option for SMTP and sendmail. I know absolutely nothing about either, though I have attempted my best to configure the SMTP settings based on the data I get from my host, 1 and 1.

Anyone who has more extensive knowledge in regards to setting up these settings, both in Joomla and host side, it would be greatly appreciated if you could chime in.

Thanks!

I'm not sure if this will help but I posted today, to someone else that was having a submit problem. In my case, I was forgetting something simple. I was using the 'PREVIEW' to check my form, but it only does just that, preview. I had filled out everything need in the form structure but it wasn't responding.
After I created a menu link to the component (you'll have to enter the form id from the form list) it worked like a charm. I use J1.5 so the menu link was easy.

Hope this helps someone. Of course everyone else may have figured this out already and it was just me.

Just wonder if anyone has the same problem as I do on the Submit button. In my case I use Joomla 1.5 and I have my form build for an intranet application. I launch my form from a menu item at an URL like: mysite/dept1/... but when pressing Submit button, the URL would go to mysite/dept1/dept1/... and of course I get a 404 error message for site not found. Is there some config that I'm missing? I don't know why I would get an extra dept1 to the URL? Any help would be appreciate.

Thanks.

Hey alittle116, and anyone else with this issue... Are you using SmartSEF? I found that if I choose \"Disable URL Rewriting\" in the SmartSEF Router Settings, go back to the main page, then purge the URL Repository, I can get this to work, for the most part. Other than I need to refresh each page twice due to a line 465 error that is an issue with SmartSEF. By doing this I am able to get the thank you page to come up, and I receive a thank you email to the address entered into the form, but I do not receive an email with the form data. however, The form data IS viewable in the collected data section of the RSForm interface so I assume this is an issue with my sendmail set-up or a permission issue. Both of which I know nothing about.

This may be a similar work around for other SEF options as well.

I am using sendmail as my email solution because I have yet to get SMTP to work, I continue to get a can not communicate error when trying. I hope this helps.
