Hi,

This email is rejected by the email validation: john.o' This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Nearly all email validation that I've seen does this and I know it is difficult to implement a correct email validation, which is why I tend to not check for it at all. Nevertheless, if a range of characters was allowed in the area before the @, this would make things much easier. The Irish would like that too!

Hi Jochen,

i didn't know that ' is allowed in an e-mail address. Anyhow, i'll add it as a valid character in the next version.

Re:Email validation - BUT not required 17 years 4 months ago #1382

Hello.

I need a form for callback or alternatively for the transmission of a question.
The ready form works, but a little bug I can not solve.

The user can choose whether to recall or by email to be contacted.
If he decides for a recall, he would need the email-feld not be filled.

But if I do email Validation for the field - is also automatically setting as required.

How can I email-field setting for the validation on, but it is NOT as a mandatory (required) field.

My idea: a separate function, is a field required or not - irrespective from the validation.

on the borad-serach im not a solution found

Hello Hewin,

i understand what you mean. Make the \"mandatory\" an option to the other validation rules. I will take care of it in the next version. Thanks for pointing that out to me.
