TOPIC: How to attach uploaded file to email

How to attach uploaded file to email 17 years 11 months ago #119

Hi,

File upload field is added in my form but the attached picture in jpg did not get attached with the email. Is there any permission setting in my folder that prevents the file being attached?

Well, the file isn't being attached to the email in this version. You could create a link to the file if that's ok with you.

assume your file field has the \"fileupload\" id

You have to:

In the Email Text, add the following line:

www.yourwebsite.com/components/com_forme/uploads/{fileupload}

This will add a link to the file.. I will let you know if the future version will have the attach functionality.

I would appreciate the new version \"the attach functionality\" with the option :

\"keep the fileupload on server\"
or
\"delete the fileupload on server after sending the e-mail\"

Very nice componant

This would be specially interesting, to keep the disk space used on server low.

Imagine the situation:
    A server with no quota could be DOSed until there is no free space on it (and a lot of stuff stops to work).
    A server that charges per Mbyte used, could have the website costs go sky high.
    A server with quota limit would stop accepting new files until they are removed, which can cause some other problems in the website.

This seems like a good companion for the 2 mail messages I suggest earlier.

Hey Alex,

It's me again, your solution still doesn't work for me, could you please try and tell me what I should do so that I finally get the link to the uploaded file in the notification mail to work, as it is a most requested feature by my clients... who otherwise just love 4me, just like I do ! :)

As a reminder, I include the link
www.yourwebsite.com/components/com_forme/uploads/{resume}
in the notification mail but it just stays in that form and doesn't convert the {resume} part... (although every other item is properly converted) ?!

Thanks a lot for your work and help !

Hm, that is really strange. Could you give me access to one of your servers where you installed it and it doesn't work? Mail me the access password if you can.

Will it be developped in a new version ??

Hi Alex,

Any chanses on adding the \"uploaded file send as email attachment\" functionality? I would find it VERY useful.
