Hi There

Could you please refund the $10 that I paid for your software and 24/7 support. I had a time critical job that was unable to be completed due to my licence code not working and not getting any reply from you.

I will wait for your reply in 3 weeks or so.....

Hi de Rooy - Thank you for your help.

Yeah I have tried a number of times - Just gave it another go and still get the same message. I really need this fixed as it does not look very profesional to have the Tryout version text on the site.

ok 1 step at the time

You have purchase the license you get a download link as well did you get the new version 1.04 ?

Have you tryed the reinstall the component because the error tells you two things

you registration code is invalid
or
the xml file is corrupt.

To exclude the one off them is to reinstall/overwrite the xml file by the correct one if that not fix the problem then you unfortunely have to wait to get a answer from the developer.

Hello guys,

I apologize for the inconvenience that you are experiencing with the update tool. I already created a new version of the update tool, that is working on all sites. The problem with the old one(the one in 1.0.4) is that it's using remote inclusion of files and some servers do not allow that considering it a threat. Coming soon the new version with the new update tool :)

Meanwhile I have also paid the $10 and the client site has just gone live, but the \"tryout\" message still appears. Please advise how to fix this as our forms also took time to create.

I get
\"Error, invalid license code or remote file _update_rsform.xml not available\"

Please advise how to fix ASAP :)<br><br>Post edited by: scottynz, at: 2008/03/07 00:38

I agree. This is getting VERY REDICULOUS !! I have paid for two licenses and having the same problem with both. The form on both of my sites says the following.
This is a tryout version of RSform!. Click here to purchase a license. Well duhh !!! I have paid for my license. I have wrote support twice about this. NO ANSWER !!!
And from what I see, there is no help in this forum either. If this is something that can't be fixed, I want my $20 back. I do NOT want this message showing on my website.

Re:Invalid Licence Code error 17 years 2 months ago #2333

Similar problem here. I received my code, and went to the component and entered it. The code was accepted, but I still get the message \"This is a tryout version of RSform!. Click here to purchase a license.\" at the top of the form.

Surely we don't need to re-install the component. That is a major headache. It should accept the code and remove the message, am I wrong?

Re:Invalid Licence Code error 17 years 2 months ago #2336

Well I went ahead and did it, because my client was after me to get the license message off. I backed up, uninstalled the component, installed the latest version, and then restored the data. Now the blasted thing won't work with my SEO settings. It worked fine before. It puts an \"index.php/\"; inside the link on every menu item. I've verified that I can add pages with other components and not get this problem.... geez.

Forget this. These RSForms! guys are a ripoff. I went and installed http://www.chronoengine.com/ Chronoforms, rebuilt my forms and it is simply marvelous. Chronoform's support is top notch as well. Highly recommended.

Hello

I am getting the error after I purchased a license:

Version Upgrade Utility
Check OK, your \"/var/www/vhosts/comfortkeepers.com/subdomains/technology/httpdocs/components/com_forme\" is WRITABLE
Check OK, your \"/var/www/vhosts/comfortkeepers.com/subdomains/technology/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_forme\" is WRITABLE
Error, invalid license code or remote file _update_rsform_1_0_4_J15.xml not available

Has a solution been found? Please let me know as the end customer needs the upgrade message to disappear asap.

Thank you

I uninstalled the trial version and reinstalled the full version and everything updated just fine (per the instructions here: www.rsjoomla.com/index.php/rsform.upgrad...ing-from-tryout.html ).

I did use the back-up on the trial, which generated a text file. When I try to restore with the text file, it tells me the file is invalid. So, if you have lots of forms you need to \"save\", this method will not work for you.

I also did a back up on the trial and it generated a zip file. After uninstalling and then installing a new (not Trial Version) of the component, all worked well. To get the not Trial Version you need to login to your account and download it.

Glad it worked for you! Maybe they have fixed the bug, but at the very least someone with lots of trial data will probably want to be very careful until there are additional successes posted here. Otherwise, it could be sticky to say the least! lol<br><br>Post edited by: rmd, at: 2008/08/06 03:33

Have you tried re-installing or maybe checking for updates?

Just looking in the user guide for RSForm!Pro, I came across this:
www.rsjoomla.com/index.php/rsformpro.mig...rm-to-RSformPro.html

Have you tried the migration tool?

Found this in the RSForm!Lite knowledgebase:
www.rsjoomla.com/index.php/rsform.upgrad...ing-from-tryout.html

If those things don't work, have you tried asking for support?<br><br>Post edited by: rmd, at: 2008/09/20 15:43

Re:Invalid Licence Code error 16 years 7 months ago #4895

I had the same problem. The client went live today and cut over the real URL so I activated it, only to find it still said it was a trial version. The update gave me the same failure message regarding that xml file, and I even tried enabling remote includes and still no dice. I can't find any place to download the full version on this site, and there's no \"Files\" option on the Support menu in the component. Very frustrating.

I ended up \"de-garbling\" the source and deleting the message manually. I had no time to fiddle further or wait for a response. IMHO the source shouldn't be garbled like that. It wouldn't make any difference to a non-programmer, and a programmer can easily figure out how to degarble it. It's just a pain, especially since I had to modify the source to fix a few rendering issues (no way to have a <br /> after each checkbox, and they are specified w/ white-space: no-wrap, so long ones will force them to widen the whole site).

All in all, a pretty good component, but I think he's trying too hard to make sure people aren't stealing the component. Which I totally understand...but it's causing way too many problems with paying customers.
