TOPIC: Cron Plugin Settings

Cron Plugin Settings 15 years 5 months ago #5763

I can't seem to get the email server to test out properly. I am using the correct settings, but it says ERROR Could not connect.

I deleted the private information but when entered it is correct. I changed the port to 110, but it doesn't seem to matter what my settings are, I still can't connect. Any ideas?

This issue got resolved by my host switching servers. They said there was a bug in the IMAP client library. If Apache has more than 1024 files open (log files, etc), the error is thrown. They said they couldn't do anything until the bug was fixed. I had them switch servers and the problem went away.

I am having this issue as well, is the IMAP bug in Cron Plugin or in the Apache server? I am not sure if it is created by the same things as what you experienced but seems like a good place to begin looking, I have submitted a ticket and have not received a reply as of yet, by reading many forum posts here it would seem that this is not un common to have to wait for response from support.

Post edited by: william.whitehead, at: 2009/01/20 12:10

Hello,

I can assure that the connection issue is not generated from the RStickets! component or plugin. This is most likely by setting on your server that is preventing the connection to be made. If this is the case it is best to contact the system administrator and report this.

Hello,

Very well. I have had the hosting provider look into it too. It could very well be something that is not your fault. But please can you have some one look into it. I did send over instructions to access the backend. If you feel you can help, please do so that i can make use of what i paid for.

Thank you again.
