TOPIC: group only

group only 15 years 5 months ago #5615

Hi all,

So far everything looks pretty good. I help out a few people with their computer and figure this would be a great way to track their problems. Exactly what this site is designed for right?

But I worry a little about privacy issues. I don't want Jane to see the tickets that Bob is sending. I'm not sure if i'm understanding things correctly. I made 2 groups and put each user in both and do not check off the 'see other tickets' options in the permissions of both groups. This hides the ticket, but then it hides it from the submitter as well. If I check off 'Can see unallocated tickets' check box, then the user sees all tickets from all groups.

Basically my question is, can I set up RStickets to make sure a group only has access to the tickets it submits? Seems like that would be the entire point behind groups, so i figure I'm missing something.

Hello,

A group is actually referring to \"a group of permissions\". Only actual staff members should be in a group, so that you can control what actions your 'team' can perform. The customer should not be in any group, since he is not a staff member. Customers won't be able to see anybody's tickets but their own.
Hope this clears up things a bit.
