TOPIC: Auto Export data after approval

Is there any way to automatically export the results of a form to, say, an Outlook or DPCalendar application? I am currently making a vacation request form on a Joomla website and would like to have a way to allow for a manager to approve the request and then automatically populate a calendar; whether it be Outlook or DP Calendar (installed in same Joomla site). As the data is stored in a database, I would assume there is a way to auto-export it to something like DP Calendar.

Has something like this been implemented before, and if so, could you guide me in the right direction?

Here is the workflow:
-User submits form
-User receives PDF confirmation of vacation request
-Department Manger receives text email containing employee information and vacation dates
From here, it would be wonderful to have a way for the manager to approve the request and have it auto-populate the calendar. This is where I am stuck.

As of now, I have it working up to the point where it imports to a calendar. Approval is done through an email link that changes a column from NO to YES which could be used as a trigger to push the information to the calendar.
