TOPIC: Restore forms on a different website

Restore forms on a different website 9 years 2 months ago #34391

Hi,
I want to restore a number of forms to a more recent version of my website. However the message keeps coming - Can't find XML file - . Can anybody help me please?
Both of the RSForm versions are the latest 1.51.10
Strange that the output is a compressed .TAR file with the restore section doesn't recognize. Could'nt it be a simple .ZIP file both for backup and restore.

I'm using a MAC and have to uncompress the .TAR file an re-ZIP it to restore.

Thnx
Bert.

You don't have to unzip the file and then compress it again. Please also make sure that you are restoring the backup through the RSForm!Pro Backup/Restore area, not through the regular Joomla! installer.

I am restoring the backup through the RSForm!Pro Backup/Restore area, but the output file is a .TAR
In the RSForm!Pro Backup/Restore area the error appears that the .TAR file is not excepted. Even renaming it to .ZIP and try to restore the message "Could not find a XML-file" appears.

I'm lost here do everything as mentioned in the documentation, but no result. Please help.

Please submit a support ticket (and provide the backup) so our staff members can have a closer look at this.

I get this from time to time. What works best for me is to do the back up and rename it something els, I do not use the built-in naming feature. Also if you do not need the submissions, trying excluding that from the back-up process.

One last thing, make sure that your back-up was completely downloaded before trying to re-upload it.
