Hi RSJoomla team,

I'm working on a site with a quite elaborated form with lots of fields (and different ones) and lots of conditions.
And I want to give you an honest feedback. I am by no mean complaining. I believe if you don't hear what your user are doing, you can't really improve properly.

I would start by saying that RSForm Pro is really neat. It offers a lot of possibilities without the need to touch any code. But also allow "power user" or developer to dig further.

The form editing view (option=com_rsform&task=forms.edit).
The way the interface is designed/layed out, you end up doing a huge amount of scrolling up/down since every time you add or edit a field, it scrolls back up to have the left column showing.
I would either have the left column sticky so when you are editing fields that are at the end of a long list of field, you don't need to scroll back up. To then scroll back down cause you might edit another one after.

Or my other idea, would be to actually get rid of the left column to have more room for the main list of fields. And have the list of field option as a horizontal list at the top. Or as a single drop down of all field options with a "add" button to trigger the action. And that "field option bar" could be sticky at the top of the window when scrolling down on long forms. That will allow to always have a direct access to the "add a field" feature.

And instead of having a "sliding drawer" effect when editing an existing field or creating a new one, as a modal/pop-up window. This will reduce the scroll up and down and be more friendly as the popup can be wider than "sliding drawer" and offer a clean view/interface.
Since Joomla! admin offers a lot of possibilities with the bootstrap framework, it should not be such a major task. And would have the benefit of giving users a view/interface they are already familiar with when using other components.

For the conditional fields. It would be great if we could change their order. The same way we can with field. The reason behind it, is that if you forgot to create one condition. And if you have a lot of condition. The one that you forgot will end up at the bottom of the list.
For user friendliness' sake and efficiency, it's better if you can keep them all together or grouped.

Voila! This what came to me when doing a lot of repetitive tasks.

I'd be curious to hear other people experience to know if i'm completely off track or missing something.

Cheers

Yes, of course. Check out the "feedback" section located on the right. RSFeedback! is in place, inspired by UserVoice.

I think another good thing to add would be folders for conditions or mapping, that way you can group them together
