Hi there

i am using rsform and rsevent on a website for a client. now i am having a very strange problem and i am unable to find any thing related to that on the official site documentation since they are talking in other way around.

I made a form in rsform and then added the rsevents fields in it so now its start showing on the event registration form and making the submissions as well. the only problem i am seeing now is getting the rsform place holders to be working in the rsevents email settings.

any body know how i can do that ?

thank you

I'm looking for the answer to this very same question! Surely this must be possible? If one is not able to include the custom registration fields from the rsform in the event confirmation emails, that greatly reduces the whole point of integrating the two components in the first place.

...so the only reason for integration would be to have RSForm!Pro data inside RSEvents!Pro emails ? I strongly disagree. Probably users how are using this integration without RSForm!Pro data in RSEvents!Pro emails would too.

At this point you can't have RSForm!Pro placeholders within RSEvents!Pro emails, and here is why. I guess that by now you noticed that there a single email configuration area for RSEvents!Pro. This implies that all events will deliver the same email format. Not all events will have the same event registration form, not even the same RSForm!Pro form. Different forms, imply different placeholders. Given this information, how exactly would see this working ?

I didn't say it was the *only* reason. I just said it greatly reduces the usefulness of this feature - at least as far as my own needs are concerned.

I wasn't necessarily looking to set up different registration forms for different events. I just need to collect a few additional fields of information from participants for all the events on my site. It would just be nice to be able to include a copy of that extra information in the confirmation emails sent to participants/event organizers.

As it turns out, I have come up with a workaround, which consists of passing the RSEvents!Pro data to RSForm!Pro, using the placeholders described at the bottom of the plugin page and sending out the confirmation mails from RSForms!Pro instead.

By placing the values passed from RSEvents!Pro in hidden fields in my custom registration form, I was able to configure my form to send the appropriate email confirmations to the event organizer and participant and include data submitted via the custom form and from the hidden fields passed from RSEvents!Pro. I was then able to just disable the "Registration" email in RSEvents!Pro since it's no longer needed. :woohoo:

Unfortunately, it does not appear possible to switch off the "New event subscription notification email" that is sent to the event organizer from RSEvents!Pro, so the event organizer will receive 2 notifications each time someone subscribes, one with the basic RSEvents!Pro email and another with the full set of information that was entered into my custom form that is sent by RSForm!Pro, but I guess I can live with that. (hint: I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to add an option in RSEvents!Pro to disable the organizer notification email in the same way you can disable the subscriber email, eh? )

Problem solved: The sending of the admin notification email is controlled by a checkbox in the Event registration section of each event and I had previously activated this option for all events. Now that I configured the RSForms!Pro form to send the notifications, I just needed to leave this option unchecked by default and hey presto, no duplicate notifications :woohoo: @jawadakr: Hopefully you were able to follow my ramblings and get this to work yourself.
