Hi,

I have a drop down field called recipient, with three recipients that can be chosen to email

joe@email.com|Joe Smith
susan@email.com|Sue Williams
baz@email.com|Barry Blue

How can I add the chosen recipient's name in the email to the sender ?

for example if the recipient chosen was Sue Williams, the sender email would say:

Thank you....I will be in touch soon

Best wishes
Sue Williams

I have tried adding {recipient:value}, in the message but that puts the email address in not the name

Try using the {recipient:text} command instead of value. You can read more about it here

www.rsjoomla.com/support/documentation/v...ad-of-the-value.html

Pretty sure this will do what you want.

I understand how this would work. My concern would be that the email addresses would no longer be effectively hidden. I often use a form to avoid an email address be accessible on a website with all the resulting spam. The method you suggest would put the email address into the value of the input tag and thus accessible.

Can you suggest a method that would avoid this?

Thanks
