I am trying to set up a submissions view in the front end so that different users can view the information submitted only by themselves and other members of their user group. I am aware that you can use the "show submissions for user ID" option to limit access to:

1. Everyone (no limitations) by typing 0
2. A specific user by typing their login/user ID e.g. "a.person" or "101"
3. A series of users by typing their login separated by commas e.g. "a.person, b.person, c.person" etc.

Is there a way to expand this functionality in order to limit what a user can view to just the submissions from their own user group?

Or, to generalise, is there a way to limit what a user can view, to just the submissions from a predetermined group of users made up through some other means

I would be extremely grateful of any help anyone could offer. Thank you in advance.
