TOPIC: Edit form after submission using aditional fields

Edit form after submission using aditional fields 11 years 5 months ago #25681

Hi there,

I need to use a contact form in our homepage, but is not enough space there to use more than 4 fields: Name, Email, Phone number and location, which is the most information to get for our database, and is perfect for visitors don't want to fill a large form. However, I want to know if is possible once the form has been submitted, redirected to another page where visitor can find another form with 5 extra fields to send a more complete information and be used to complete the first submission. It is possible?

Thank you!

Hello,

In order to do this you need to create two forms. After the first form will be submitted it will redirect to the second form.

Having a different redirect when the form submits, can be done by adding the link of the second form in "Return URL".

Thank you for your answer. I understand the option to redirect after submission to the second form. However I don't understand, how can I associate the information of the second form to the first one. It is important because in the second form we can't ask any information of the first one, so once the visitant submit the second form, is not information on it to know which user submitted the second form.

If somebody else need something similar, this is the answer I was looking for:

Hello,

As a much simpler approach, you could try the example presented in the following article:

www.rsjoomla.com/support/documentation/v...-different-form.html

Your first form can be used as a "dummy" form, to only pass some fields(probably name and email or whatever you desire based on your space), and the second form will actually be the main one where the whole submitted information will be associated with it.
