Hello!

impossible to receive e-mail client that uses (@hotmail.com).

I tried all settings. I tried with several emails administrators.

The e-mail @hotmail is sent, but will not in the inbox.

It seems to me that it is a general error of Rsform. For I have clients in different hosts, and all the same problem happens.

Has anyone experienced this?

Please, I need help! Thank you!

The actual sending of the email is done by your hosting server, not by RSForm! Pro. If the message is sent and if the receiver actually receives it depends on other factors (spam filters, firewall filters, email sending limits etc). If it works for other email addresses then RSForm! Pro is functioning correctly.

Ok me explain something.

Other components work perfectly with hotmail. eg: ChronoForms. Fox contact, etc ...

For only Rsforms does not work with hotmail?

I discovered something. the only way to get an e-mail @ hotmail with Rsforms is to use a hotmail email settings for sending Rsfoms and also in the Joomla global settings.

That's too bad, really like Rsforma not wanted to switch component.

Please believe me when I say there's not a single piece of code in RSForm! Pro that says "don't send emails to hotmail.com addresses, but send to other addresses just fine".

You've just answered your question in the second part of your message.

PROBLEM SOLVED

For those who wish. The solution was:

Settings in the admin emails:

Error:
In the field: from (Do not put the Value of the email client)

Solution:
Put the field: From (The same e-mail address used to receive emails of form)

**Hotmail blocks sending of emails when the "From" "admin email" is this with the value: eg {Email: value}
**That may change, depending on your host

Hi,
I have the same problem as Chip13 had. Also a lot of other people. Octavian clearly did not understand the problem.
The problem originates not exactly in RSForms but is partially caused by it! For example, AcuMailing gets to send messages to hotmail.com, but RSForms DO NOT. They are both Joomla components, and they both send to the same user address. How come?
I strongly suspect that, in general, Microsoft anti-spam intervene and block the mail differently depending on: the message structure, the parameters on user's email server and the current black lists.

The cause is not RSform.
The reason is most likely because the settings in RSform are wrong.
In Acymailing you are sending with your own email adres.

As Chip described above he is using "from: {email:value}" that means that he is trying to send email with his guests email adres, when that mail arrives at the hotmail.com server that servers checks and sees that your website is not the owner of that email adres and you get blocked, because sending mail with an adres that you do not own is SPAM.

If you set it up properly you wont have this problem

I'm Also having an issue currently (seems to be a new problem,.. didn't have this issue before..), with some emails working fine with the form, others seem not.

If the {Email:value} uses:

@yahoo.com emails seem to be not sent...

@gmail.com emails work as they should....

I'm not suggesting this is a malfunction of RSForm,... but I do need to find a solution...

F the email value is @yahoo.com, the email is not sent to our admin email ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )... and the user seems to receive the admin email... but not the user email....735

Any suggestions..

Barry

I recently went through this. The reason that the problem did not exist previously is that many of the major email providers (@gmail.com, @yahoo.com) recently upgraded their security to check reverse PTR records to see if that domain matches who the email is saying it is from. That is why if you use the {email:value} and it's a gmail but you are sending from mydomain.com, they are not being delivered. So this can occur with both user and admin emails.

If you are still having problems after changing the FROM on your emails, go to www.intodns.com/ and check if you have a "Reverse MX A records (PTR)" and if it matches the domain you are sending from.
