TOPIC: Backend PDF download

Backend PDF download 11 years 7 months ago #24925

Hello,

I'm brand new to Joomla, and partially new to RSForms. We technically had an installation of both on our old website (drupal based) but I only dealt directly with RSForms and only for small things.

So I know where nothing is, nor what my options are I'm afraid.

A move to Joomla was somewhat forced and unexpected (don't ask) so I'm currently rushing around trying to fix things that are now broken.

One thing is our online applications. We're a school and are using RSForms to allow students to apply for admissions. I currently have our admissions department downloading a CSV and using that as the database for a mailmerge to get the application in a readable format.

They are complaining to me that this is a tedious process. I had considered the PDF plugin but because of the sensitive nature of the information I don't want those being emailed in an unsecured PDF. Unless there is a password protect option I'm not seeing.

I noticed that it's possible to create a directory that allows for downloading the submission as a PDF. But I don't want this directory available to anyone through the main website. I want them to log in through the backend to do this.

Is there a way to do this currently? To make the directory available via the backend that forces people to login through the administration panel? I wish there was a "Export to PDF" button along the top but no such luck.

Thank you very much for any help you can provide.
