TOPIC: Validating the dropdown

Validating the dropdown 14 years 6 months ago #11606

I have created dropdowns for country and title fields in my form. The first option for both dropdowns is 'Select One'. I want to make the dropdown a required field but i don't want the user to chose the first option and submit.

How can i make the field required but not let the first option be an option for the user to select.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

In order to achieve this please try adding a " | " before your first option, for example:

|Select One

If your field has the "Required" property set to "Yes", this value will throw a validation error.

I was searching for this like crazy. Finally found it! :)

You should add this to the documentation, it is missing there: www.rsjoomla.com/support/documentation/r...fields/dropdown.html
