Migrate RSFeedback! from Joomla! 2.5 to 3.x
RSFeedback!, in its present form, does not include a feature that would allow you to backup / restore its data in order to migrate it from one website to another. This leaves us in the position where we need to transfer the component's database tables in order to perform the migration:
- dbprefix_rsfeedback_auto_moderation
- dbprefix_rsfeedback_categories
- dbprefix_rsfeedback_comments
- dbprefix_rsfeedback_feedbacks
- dbprefix_rsfeedback_flags
- dbprefix_rsfeedback_groups
- dbprefix_rsfeedback_statuses
- dbprefix_rsfeedback_subscriptions
- dbprefix_rsfeedback_user_flags
- dbprefix_rsfeedback_user_votes
Important:
- Make sure to update RSFeedback!, on both websites, to the latest revision before transferring the tables.
- Considering that some of RSFeedback!'s tables reference the user ID found in the default Joomla! _users table, you will need to transfer that table as well, in order to keep those references.
Migrating from Joomla 1.5 to 2.5
This is done in the same manner as described above, with the only difference being that you need to first update RSFeedback! on the Joomla! 1.5 website to the latest revision available for Joomla! 1.5 - rev. 4.
